Tolgay Kizilelma PhD. • Chief Information Security Officer, UC Merced

Tolgay Kizilelma is currently leading the information security program as the Chief Information Security Officer at University of California Merced. He is a business IT leader with more than twenty five years of experience covering the whole IT spectrum. Prior to joining UC Merced, he served for UC Agriculture and Natural Resources as their CISO. At UC ANR, he also led and managed the service desk, network, infrastructure, operations, and information security teams covering the whole state. He led statewide infrastructure projects to extend broadband to UC researchers in rural communities by connecting UC ANR sites to the California Research and Education Network (CalREN). UC ANR has been awarded the CENIC 2018 Innovations in Networking Award for Broadband Applications due to these projects.

Tolgay is an advocate of lifelong learning and as an adjunct professor teaches graduate business analytics courses at Saint Mary's College of California. His current research interests are cybersecurity, digital transformation, business analytics, operations and supply chain management, and educational IT programs. He has various industry certifications, a BS degree in computer engineering, an MBA, and PhD focusing on information security, quality, and patient safety. He also serves on ISACA Sacramento Board as the Government & Regulatory Advocacy Director and the Trusted CI Framework Advisory Board.

Jack Freund PhD. • Head of Cyber Risk Methodology, VisibleRisk

As Head of Cyber Risk Methodology for VisibleRisk (the Moody’s/Team8 JV), Jack has overall responsibility for the systemic development and application of frameworks, algorithms, and quantitative and qualitative methods to measure cyber risk. Previously, Jack was Director, Risk Science at quantitative risk management startup RiskLens. Jack has 22 years of experience consulting, building, and leading technology and risk management programs for Fortune 100 organizations including TIAA, Nationwide, and Lucent Technologies.

Jack was awarded a Ph.D. in Information Systems after his research in disaster informatics and cyber resilience at Nova Southeastern University. He also holds a Masters in Telecommunications and Project Management and a BS in CIS. He holds the CISSP, CISA, CISM, CRISC, CGEIT, CDPSE, CIPP, and PMP designations. Jack has been named a Senior Member of the IEEE and ACM, a Fellow of the IAPP and FAIR Institute, and a Distinguished Fellow of the ISSA. He is the 2020 recipient of the (ISC)2 Global Achievement Award, 2018 recipient of ISACA’s John W. Lainhart IV Common Body of Knowledge Award, the FAIR Institute’s 2018 FAIR Champion Award, and presented Nova Southeastern University's Distinguished Alumni Award.

Jimmy Sanders • Head of Information Security, Netflix

Jimmy has spent the better part of two decades securing data and systems from cyber threats. In addition to his duties at DVD.com, Jimmy has served as the San Francisco Bay Area chapter president of the Information Systems Security Association (ISSA) since 2014. He is also on the ISSA International Board of Directors. Furthermore, he has been a speaker at BlackHat, SecureWorld, InfoSec World as well as other notable events. Prior to DVD.com, Jimmy has also held senior security management roles at organizations that include Samsung, Fiserv, and SAP. He is a Cyber Security Committee advisor for Merritt College, Ohlone College as well as on advisory board for other colleges and non-profit movements. Jimmy Sanders maintains the certifications of Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified in Risk Information and Information Systems Control (CRISC), and Certified Information Systems Manager (CISM). He holds degrees in Psychology and Behavioral Science from San Jose State University.

Melissa Bendana • Information Security, Governance and Risk Management, Blue Shield of CA

Innovative IT Risk Management leader with 20+ years of experience in information security, risk, governance, compliance, and privacy. Proficient at identifying and remediating ineffective security controls, vulnerabilities, and gaps. Rand Morimoto PhD. • CISSP, Convergent Computing

Dr. Morimoto is a pioneer in the tech industry and an expert in cybersecurity and electronically stored information (ESI) based in the Silicon Valley. Dr. Morimoto has published over 50 internationally published books and has a Ph.D. in organizational behavior, an MBA in international business, and is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP). Dr Morimoto has served as a Trustee on the governing board for Saint Mary’s College (2010-2019), Board Member for the Chabot Space and Science Center (2001-2014), and currently serves as a member of the Research Council for the Institute of Human Origins @ Arizona State University. Dr Morimoto is the CEO of Convergent Computing, a San Francisco Bay Area and Singapore based strategy and technology consulting firm he founded in 1986.
